    Rock Band 3 - Xbox 360 (Game)

    • I don't like the songs on this title as much as the older Rockbands or most of the Guitar Hero titles, but the thing the really irritates me about Rock Band 3 is the lag calibration.
    • I never really got into Guitar Hero or Rock Band when they first came out
    • One of my favorite features of games like Guitar Hero and the first 2 Rock Bands was the ability to have a head to head competition with friends playing the same instrument (both on and off line)
    • As with recent Guitar Hero games, you can now drop in or out of a song or set at any time, as well as change profiles during any menu screen, which is a really nice new addition to the Rock Band repertoire
    • Granted the import in Rock Band is way more inclusive than in Guitar Hero, but it just feels cheap to charge us so much for songs we've previously paid for
    • We were able to use an old-ish Aerosmith Guitar Hero Xbox controller with this game just fine, as well as a newish Rock Band wireless guitar controller
    • My band has drums, lead guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, DJ hero, and vocalist using both Rock Band and Guitar Hero games.
    • The Beast and the Harlot,' and 'No One Knows,' as the other reviewer pointed out, those songs have been in previous Guitar Hero games
    • First let me start by saying that I have been playing rhythm games starting with Guitar Hero 2.
    • The Rock Band-series has always been far ahead of the now defunct Guitar Hero-series, but with their third installment, they truly proved their worth; while Guitar Hero was becoming more and more childish and goofy (monsters, seriously?), Rock Band 3 is one to own; if you're new to music rhythm games, if you already have a mic, plastic guitars and drums, or if you're like me, a hardcore completionist always looking for a better score
    • For example, now on stage you will have a microphone stand & you can make your characters look taller & a little more realistic then the other two games (remides me of Guitar Hero
    • I feel sort of like, for whatever reason, Rock Band is trying to recapture the more annoying elements of Guitar Hero, with the game telling you when you've got certain length streaks going on, throwing challenges at you, and having sound effects that detract from the music
    • I would recommend this game to everyone that enjoys playing rockband or guitar hero
    • I have been disappointed with other music gaming franchises (looking at you guitar hero) and there constant releases with minimal to the gameplay and really wanted a new experience

    • The fact remains a number of the songs are available on various Guitar Hero games.
    • This was fun, you actually had wierd looking band member's that were with you all the time, not an avatar like in Guitar Hero.
    • My fiance just recently got into guitar hero and rock band
    • There are songs that go back to Guitar Hero II if I remember correctly, and then there are songs that just aren't any fun to play at all.
    • I got hooked on x-box with guitar hero 1 and shortly there after was a die hard GOW fan
    • well with Guitar hero dead
    • Being an air guitar enthusiast of sorts but never quite into Guitar Hero, I was quickly drawn into the appeal of using a controller that at least somewhat resembled a playable instrument
    • It has the usual features (import old rock band songs, etc) as well as the new Keyboard part and Pro Modes (additional instruments required until you unlock Keyboard parts for the Guitar)The only thing I wish would happen is for Rock Band and Guitar Hero to become at least compatible so that you could import your Guitar Hero songs into your Rockband games (or vice-versa) and have one big library
    • All in all if you have been burned by guitar hero and think this version of rockband is the same you'd be wrong
    • Heaps of fun and proven time and time again at local LANs it is the optimal choice for ease of play and range of songs and even beats every Guitar Hero game
    • no guitar hero, boring lousy songs and overall was a waste of my money
    • no guitar hero, boring lousy songs and overall was a waste of my money
    • Now matter how much I've toyed with it, I can't seem to hit that perfect spot which seems like second nature on almost all the Guitar Hero's since III.
    • Whole different level than the previous Rock Band games, or any Guitar Hero games for that matter!
    • I gotta say this game take all the elements that worked in Rock Band 2 as well as elements that I liked in a Guitar Hero game I played & mixed it all up
    • Amazing game, just absolutely nailed it this time around, the best guitar hero or Rock Band game ever by far and tons of fun
    • Rock Band has taken a page out of Guitar Hero's book here, and made your song stats viewable between songs
    • No more band play which is like the main reason I played Rockband over Guitar Hero
    • We have Guitar Hero instruments and they are all compatible.
    • Though I haven't played any of them, it was my understanding that allowing any combination of instruments is standard in Beatles RB, Band Hero, and Guitar Hero 5
    • The outfit unlocking system is not nearly as straightforward or enjoyable as in RB2
