I've tried cheaper mic stand alternatives and this one is definitely worth the money

In one of the video reviews it showed how with a solid mic to stand setup would pick up the slightest sound like if you took a writing pen and dropped it on the table the Mic picked up that sound, I bought a Blue Yeti Black edition mic and a RODE PSA1 Swivel Mount Studio Microphone Boom mic stand as I mentioned

The tension is not adjustable, so make sure you've got a pretty hefty mic

Stiff enough to support my Yeti mic, this combined with a shock mount is an amazing setup.

Maybe mine's slightly defective or there's just too much weight with the pop mic and shock mount, but it doesn't even seem like it would hold up a lighter mic that well

There is a major issue with the screws remaining tight; they have the potential to malfunction and cause your mic will go limp forever.

That is because, to clear the mic from your face, you would have to either lift the mic arm way high or to rotate the whole shebang to the side.

I recently bought the Neewer boom mic

It works silently and if you have a vibration cage attached to your mic while using this, you will not get any noise transmitted into your show when you do move the boom mic

The video review had his mic hooked up so he could show using Audacity the actually graphs from the sound and it was impressive that when he did some tests, one being dropping the pen on the table not only could you not see any difference in the Audacity graph you couldn't even hear the sound that the pen dropping caused with the solid mic stand
