Cuts out the annoying vibration my hard drives caused, that the desk stand picked up - and lets the mic be positioned pretty much anywhere I need.

These are minor gripes, this stand is absolutely amazing

This stand holds all of the weight just fine and stays put wherever I move it.

All in all, if you're just getting into Let's Plays or podcasting, or announcing, or whatever requires you to sit and speak into a microphone, I would 100% recommend this stand.

I agree with several other reviews that the mic stand is loud (makes squeaking and popping sounds when moved).

This RODE PSA1 mic stand is brilliant

The video review had his mic hooked up so he could show using Audacity the actually graphs from the sound and it was impressive that when he did some tests, one being dropping the pen on the table not only could you not see any difference in the Audacity graph you couldn't even hear the sound that the pen dropping caused with the solid mic stand
