Rode VideoMicro Compact On-Camera Microphone with Rycote Lyre Shock Mount

    • like the dead cat tag wasn’t centered, the mic had a serial number on it the little gold dot was smaller then others I seen.. it feels so flimsy and cheap
    • so it cancels out any vibrations send the furry dead cat is great for blocking out wind.
    • The "dead cat" was very useful and minimized a lot of wind noise during our shoot in downtown DC on a windy day
    • I didn't pick up too much background noise and the dead cat fits and works perfectly
    • Throw it on a boom pole, get a dead cat wind muff and enjoy.
    • so I just ditch the dead cat and it works perfect.
    • Should come bundled with the fluffy wind sock / dead cat
    • Included was a simple stabilizer that connects to the hotshoe mount, a red cable that connects to your mic port, and a big fluffy dead cat for outdoor use of course
    • Also the dead cat comes off easily and it sometimes falls off when I face the microphone to the ground for a while
    • It comes with a dead cat but most of my shooting with audio is
    • The dead cat is HUGE and is in the way of the camera lens.
    • It also comes with the dead furry cat which also helps when you are outside because it gets rid of the popping sound from the wind
    • Don't buy the dead cat they recommend , low quality.
    • Includes a "dead cat" that works really well.
    • The dead cat windscreen works well...better than the screen on my other mike
    • the "dead cat" windscreen doesn't always stay on and leaks a bit of wind noise, but you can't go wrong with a Rode, i see them all over
    • The dead cat is pretty loose unless you shove it on pretty far back towards the grooves
    • Only thing I would do is put a plastic cover in the front of the dead cat like one of them water bottles it will help with wind and pops.
    • The wind noise canceling dead cat (more like a dead gerbil) works like a pro.
    • Background noise is minimal and deals with wind well (still need to get a dead cat for outside windy places).
    • With the wind defuser (dead cat) on the mic, I don't hear any wind, this was the biggest problem with all my other videos & the reason I tried the Rode mic
    • A bit hard to get into the lyre, and the dead cat muff is GIGANTIC, but it works well for my Canon
    • Great sound quality along with the dead cat product .
    • Dead cat is almost too floofy and needs a trim for use with a GoPro especially on a wide frame shot
    • The dead cat and the Lyre shoe-mount are a awesome bonus for your purchase
    • Bought this with a dead cat and you can't hear much wind or anything
    • And, as others have said, the 'dead cat' is impractically big for the mic
    • and it's included dead cat wind
    • Great quality, and also comes with a "dead cat" mic cover for use outdoors
    • If you add the "dead cat", the entire camera is blocked.
    • i added - for an extra $28 - the dead cat windscreen and that seems to be helping.
    • I used the dead cat on the mic as soon as it arrived sitting in my room with the air conditioning on and recorded myself talking
    • Amazon suggested the Rode wind cover(known as a "dead cat" in the industry) for $25
    • Dead Cat included
    • The dead cat and the Lyre shoe-mount are a awesome bonus for your purchase
    • However (and maybe it's the one I received) but the absorbent makes the mic move a lot and with the dead cat, it hits against the actual camera making a lot of unwanted noise
    • nice and dead cat / wind sock does work good, it does capture good sound as I tested on my daughters ipod, just wish it would have worked on my camcorder.
    • The wind noise canceling dead cat (more like a dead gerbil) works like a pro.
    • Perhaps, Rode is looking into some kind of size reduction to the 'dead cat'.Thumbs up to the other mic we got - Rode NT-USB.
    • I do have the dead-cat on
    • Would recommend one of those dead cat looking wind covers.
    • I really don't notice much of a difference with this connect to my Hero 5 Black... the dead cat should have a foam cover option instead.
    • Another downside is the dead cat filter doesn't stick on very well and comes loose sometimes
    • The dead cat is pretty loose unless you shove it on pretty far back towards the grooves
    • However, when I used it outdoor to record a video I still could hear the wind noise even though I used the dead cat.
    • Everyone thought I had a furry mouse on my rig, I told them how morbid, it's a "dead cat"
    • The dead cat that it comes with doesn't fit very well, making it easy for wind to pour into the back side which completely undermines the purpose of the dead cat.
    • I use the included wind muff ("Dead Cat") and it makes a hell of a difference when you are in windy situations
    • so I just ditch the dead cat and it works perfect.
    • The included dead cat really cut the wind down at the beach and kind of makes you look a bit more professional.
    • Comes with the dead cat mic cover
    • the sound quality started to go down and an echo appear.it comes with dead cat to cancel the noise you can use it for out door but not the best in the market.**very important note: - if you want to use it with standard tripod you have to buy 1/4" to 3/8" Convert Screw Adaptor (it shows in picture )- the cable come in the box work only with camera not work with phones
    • I didn't pick up too much background noise and the dead cat fits and works perfectly
    • The "dead cat" was very useful and minimized a lot of wind noise during our shoot in downtown DC on a windy day
    • However the dead cat isnt a very firm fit and the mic is unbalanced and leans forward when the dead cat on
    • Easy on and off of the hot shoe, very secure, and great quality for picking up audio even with the fuzzy cat to reduce wind noise.
    • The only issue I found was that the dead cat would slip down the mic
    • If you plan on using this outside, you will need to purchase the dead cat for this separately and that will also add size to
    • However, if you do any filming in an outdoor environment it will amplify any wind noise UNLESS you use the included dead cat (the wind blocker thing), which is not very convenient.
    • The dead cat is superb, and the shock absorber is fantastic.
    • Came with a fuzzy dead cat thing to cut down wind noise and it works quite well
    • Really a great buy with the shock mount and dead cat (which really does kill wind noise).
    • If you use the dead cat, it will completely obstruct the lens.
    • It's much bigger than I thought it would be, and with the "dead cat" wind shield on it, it's quite huge seemingly doubling the size of my phone as I handle it.
    • The dead cat (which works very well) is quite large and I struggle to keep it out of frame.
    • It does pic up the noise of the wind generated by the fan, but with the "Dead Cat" on, you couldn't hear the wind from the ceiling
    • It's small, doesn't needs external power supplies and includes the Lyra shock absorbing mount and the dead cat, a must to shoot with wind
    • Dead cat is a must when outdoors
    • I recommend getting the dead cat to filter out excess noise.
    • Pros:- Helps get audio in front of the mic and not so much from behind the mic.- the Dead cat, (sold separately) is a good add-on to this for those
    • This Rode VideoMic Me Directional Microphone is just what you're looking for!I did an audio test with my smartphone without the included wind muff (known as a "Dead Cat") with the ceiling fan on.
    • Very strong good quality amazing record quality cat hair when you use
    • The dead cat is superb, and the shock absorber is fantastic.
    • I got the wind cover as well that looks like a dead cat.
    • While there is an included windscreen, it is very ineffective and doesn't do the job that the VideoMicro's dead cat does.
    • The dead cat is a nice touch too
    • Everything is included plus extra cover and wind filter dead cat that the seller included
    • Flexible Built-in MicYou have to keep in mind that this wireless microphone for iphone is characterized with tiny shotgun as well as it can be directly picked up in front of it
    • Not as good as the Video Mic Pro but doesn't require a battery and is a lot more affordable
    • The missing fifth star is due to the fact that they plastic shock mount broke (one arm only, so it still works) as it isn't easy to remove from the mic for storage.
    • When in the wind it isn't as great as I would hope, however works perfectly with my GH4 and the quality is great
    • I use mine on top of my Canon T6i, as well as on the end of the Rode Micro Boom Pole, and with a microphone boom stand, and I have enjoyed the high quality sound his microphone provides
    • Holy s--t!
