Wow what a great device

BEWARE,after a couple of months using this device, last night after 9:00 pm

Most Roku devices I have been fine however this model is a big problem

I liked the device but after a year and a half the remote stopped working

It is a great device

Very good device

Since then the device gets hung up while watching Netflix often.

I love this Roku 4 - I have all of my streaming channels on this device - it is so much faster than using my Samsung Smart TV device for my streaming channels and I can use Roku for streaming my Spectrum TV by using WiFi - who needs a cable box anymore and now I am saving about $30/month!!

DEVICE IS STUCK

The device gets very hot and would frequently freeze

It comes unpaired from the stupid device EVERY SINGLE

This device worked great for about 2 months

The remote is awful, but otherwise great device

I was a fire Stick TV user, I thought it was a great device, but then I tried Roku

Overall it is a terrific device, except for the lack of the browser

Easy to install and a great device.

I believe it's because of temperature issues, as the device gets really hot

Its been a great device so far.

So up until a week ago this was a fabulous device

So when i lost my remote and saw that there was a 4 out, I trusted Roku to have another great device and made the plunge

All my other devices in the house have no issue at all with connecting, so this is isolated to the Roku.

Great device, user friendly, and sleek design.

Having all of my media so beautifully organized, displayed and easily accessible on the Roku (and all my devices) has been delightful!

I love this product, it is my second device

Plays 4k h.265 mkv files as claimed, and is one of the few device capable of doing so at full standard bitrate

Be advised that this devices are corrupted and it Needs an INVESTIGATION.This type of issues are UNACCEPTABLE

Since my AT&T cable box was also a hot device I just figured these type of devices get hot

Unfortunately this is the first bad Roku device I've bought (generally I love their products).

Now I seem to get the "Device is running too hot - and then a choice to turn on cooler, turn off".

I have owned Roku products from the early days and the Roku 4 is by far the worst device they have produced.

This device has serious issues where the audio and the video come out of sync on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video

They have discontinued the Roku 4 and have refused to fix the issue or recall the defective devices.

At the end of the day, all you want is to watch some damned movies...why should you have to modify, enhance or buy any secondary cooling device?

Instead, you have to use another device (like an ipad or iphone) to connect to the Slingbox, then connect that ipad/iphone to the Roku via the Roku's Slingplayer app.

All in all, a solid device

Ok Roku, you've developed a good device, now it's time to reign it in and help users take more control over where it can go and what it can do.

Amazing device

When I told them the device is defective because I need to physically access the device to wake it up, they responded with the following statement (this is a copy/paste of their email)

This is an awesome media device, you can get any app you want and any media you want.

For some reason, the Roku seems to be the most popular streaming device

But on just about every other metric, I can wholeheartedly recommend this device.

But you say that restarting the devices fixes the issue

It's the best streaming device I've ever enjoyed.

This is probably one of the worst streaming devices I have ever purchased

The device worked for 2 years

If you live downtime or in a highly populated area, you're stuck sharing the same 8 wireless channels as all your neighbors, as this device doesn't support conencting to an AP running on one (or more) of the 16 DFS channel "in the middle" of the spectrum.

After weeks of going back and forth with Roku support, I told them the device is defective because I have to unplug and re-plug the device in to wake it up

I Purchased this device less than a month ago and it is already broken, it won't even turn on

Yesterday, my Roku device stopped working all of a sudden

As soon as I hooked it up to my TV the device became very hot and never was able to see an image on my television.

Although I don't see much upgrade from the previous version, this is a reliable device I use daily.

Amazing device!

The device isn't capable of decoding many popular audio formats - only passing them through

However my tv does not support 4k devices.

This device does not work without you giving them your credit card information.

No it's not near other hot devices

Other than the lack of info from Roku, this is a really great device.

However, after ordering and installing this device (nice device btw, much better picture) it did not resolve me Roku 4 problem.

I have 3 roku devices, totalling well over $250, this is not the way to keep a happy customer

I thought this was a very nice device during the couple of days I had it.

Video plays for 1-2 minutes before the device becomes completely unresponsive

I would not recommend the "upgraded" device

The device works fine without the remote (albeit very hot as other people have pointed out)

However in general the device is useful and it does allow you to enjoy 4K content
