    • Unfortunately this unit overheats regularly and freezes up all the time
    • but it isn't reasonable for me to contact support every time I see an ad and wait until they do something about it
    • Half the time after a reboot the menu screens look awful
    • I've contacted Roku support multiple times only to sit on hold for over 30 minutes each time
    • Also news programs are WORSE 15 second ads before EVERY news flash ( longest 2.5 min cut off early many times) so is like being on a computer being hassled by popups all the time
    • My fix for this was go back to the Home screen, and try again, and again and sometimes 5+ times, before eventually the audio would work (doing nothing else different).
    • Certain video series this affected the whole thing, others were totally fine all the time
    • But every time I try to turn on the unit the remote won't work.
    • That's exactly what people like me need -- people who have a hard time understanding the loose diction of today's actors for whatever reason (tinnitus, deafness, background noise sensitivity, etc.).
    • Streaming is slow and freezes all the time
    • This 4 froze all the time, lost wifi connection every 5 minutes, etc
    • Amazon shipped this Roku 4 in good time
    • It's crashed several times from overheating after only having used it for a few half hour shows
    • I had a Roku 3 for a couple years in the same room and it worked perfect the whole time

    • Works fantastic but, like the others, there are times after a few weeks or a couple of months, we have to reboot it.

    • I've put time into understanding the problems with the Roku 4 and I can assure you that the source of my angst isn't user error or a flawed unit
    • The YouTube channel is totally and completely useless and freezes all the time often requiring a hard reset/reboot/unplug of the Roku to begin playing anything again.
