If I had any qualms about this product being that I am not remotely electrically talented, it would be that somehow it has surge protection also

Another nice feature would be one of those surge-protection indicators, but it's not really rated for that - think of this as more of a selectable switch bank, not a surge protector

On sensitive electronics, I still use power strips with adequate surge protection, but these work out nicely for specific tasks.

As pointed out by other reviewers, these do not have surge protection.
