The top clamp has an extra pin that I would assume is only for extra protection

, the safety pin has holes every 6" or so and the clamp wasn't strong enough to hold the laptop without it, so you had to keep the laptop at whatever height the pins would be at

If this is normal behavior, why even have the clamps?As for the wobbliness, it is at the point where the top clamp is located

My one knock on it is the clamp is not strong enough so the post will slowly collapse with the weight of my 17" laptop.
