Samson MediaOne 5a Active Studio Monitors

    • are a bit muddy; bass lacks impact-wide sound; vocals are clear and separated
    • The bass is decent for 3 inch woofer.
    • Has surprisingly good bass
    • It takes a lot of patience, but if you can achieve tight, controlled low-end in your mix through these monitors, you're guaranteed to get good bass translation on 80% of the systems out there
    • Good quality sound and great separation, good bass response, good mids and highs for the price
    • They also have really nice bass - better than a 2.1 speaker setup that you find at electronics and computer retailers
    • There was practically no bass at all, which is good for clarity when mixing vocals and other instruments, but doesn't give a clear representation of what the bass and lows sound like in your mix.
    • Excellent bass response and crystal clear highs make these monitors sound like a Bose radio
    • In that respect, yes, the bass would sound horrible
    • However, what I've found is that while mixing, these speakers actually produce extremely smooth bass response, but they make it so you have to work to get it sounding as such
    • The bass is adequate for my needs
    • Both have amp and cabinet modeling (very important here) so i was very interested in how these speakers would work as they are listed as "studio monitors" and really wanted to hear the "true" direct sounds of both the Zoom and the Boss
    • I don't have any real negatives as of
