    Samsung BD-D5500 3D Blu-ray Disc Player (Black)

    • Unfortunately, the product does not yet support Amazon Prime Video
    • For example: the DB-D5700 apparently does NOT support (true)
    • Automatic does not work.
    • It does not have built in wifi, although wired works fine
    • Netflix app does not work, complains network connection not available
    • Indeed, the DB-D5500 does such a good job of enhancing (standard low-definition) DVDs, that replacing your DVD library with corresonding Blu-ray versions, or paying extra for Blu-ray disk (e.g., from Netflix) may not noticeably improve your viewing quality.
    • Like I said before, the Samsung does its job for the most part (playing netflix at night while I lay in bed trying to fall asleep),
    • I am not sure what specific BD title(s) the Dec 20, 2011 firmware update for the D5500 was supposed to fix, because it sure does not help the playback issues with Cars
    • It plays regular DVD's, Blu-Ray's and 3-D movies very well
    • But as for the Samsung products, when they work, its beautiful, so nice to use the tv remote to control the blu-ray player, and all the optimal picture settings and 3-D settings work automatically because of the Samsung connection
    • The 3-D is great
