All the other features worked just fine for me, Netflix worked like a charm wirelessly and movies generally loaded up at decent speeds

Most features are redundant because they are already available on your TV (if it is only a few years old)---but a few key features (such as 3D) require support on BOTH the player and the TV.

I sent the item back and replaced it with a lower-line and more basic Toshiba Blu-ray (no 3D capability), which worked just fine as soon as I hooked it up (including internet-accessed "smart" features)

But as for the Samsung products, when they work, its beautiful, so nice to use the tv remote to control the blu-ray player, and all the optimal picture settings and 3-D settings work automatically because of the Samsung connection
