    Samsung BD-D5700 3D Blu-ray Disc Player (Black) [2011 MODEL]

    • The streaming apps (we use primarily Netflix and Vudu) lock up or performance gets so bad that it requires a power cycle (usually only straight-up unplugging the device fixes the problem).
    • both devices report frequent network errors when starting Netflix
    • The device is still painfully slow though
    • THIS DEVICE DOES NOT SUPPORT NETFLIX STREAMING CAPTIONS
    • The wireless device inside the machine caused network failures on my network, once the system was powered down the issues went away
    • I did some additional research which I should have done before purchasing this device, a lot of other folks were complaining about freeze ups if you're watching a movie and if you hit the "stop" or "pause" at any time during the movie, the device will start to freeze up at four minute intervals
    • Check the specs, check your equipment, check your needs like the size of your space you plan to use this player in and check your expectations: maybe you need a more powerful device
    • Visitor: i want my iphone and samsung devices to communicate with each otherVisitor: if Apple is saying the iPhone can use this app.....why won't it work with the Samsung devices?Visitor: are the devices broken?Visitor: because box I bought the DVD
    • A lot of no-name apps that work poorly and freeze up the device, forcing me to reboot
    • For Netflix, we now mostly use a Chromecast as nearly every device we have that includes integrated Netflix has either crashed or cannot update adequately anymore.
    • This device has connectivity issues (my two pc's, iPad, android phone, and Roku on the same network do not)
    • I cannot recommend this device as it is defective with its current software/firmware (current firmware and Netflix
    • I had trouble connecting the player to my home WiFi network (I have at least a half-dozen other devices which connect flawlessly).
    • I really love this device, but we couldn't get Netflix to connect, but we finally prevailed.
    • Worse, this device DOES NOT support Amazon Instant Videos, period, so as an Amazon Prime
    • the device is easy to use and troubleshoot
    • We added a router in the room with the blu-ray and that has helped, but it's still not great and would work better as a wired device.
    • We have other devices in our home that work fine with Netflix.
    • Also, I have ensured it is indeed the unit itself as I have tried other devices on the exact same connections (wired and wireless) and they work flawlessly.
