In the smart hub reset the app software

Hello,I eceived this samsund model with blu-ray (2D), the smart hub, and some samsung apps

Our Cable service had a brief power outtage over the weekend in our area and we ended up using some of the Apps on this BD-D5700's smart hub and they were excellent

I've done all the updates, opened an account with Samsung and "signed in" on the Smart Hub, like review suggested on the Samsung site, trouble shooted all the advice tips in the booklet, called Netflix and even called Samsung.

Blu Rays played fine, but the "Smart Hub" started acting funky

Smart Hub freezes up about 75% of the time, requiring a pull of the power cord to reboot

so you can connect to the internet without excess cables (most people won't have an Ethernet jack in their living room), features for DLNA media streaming, USB storage compatibility, and a "Smart Hub" with "APPS" for YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, etc

My previous Blue ray did not include streaming capabilities but now that I do own one with that features I'm now going back just the built in Smart Hub application makes the upgrade worth it, the DLNA (PC Shared Manager) took me a while to get it going due to the researched and tracking down the software

About the Smart Hub, I was only interested in the Youtube app, but it's just worthless.

Never got a chance to access the Apps and use the Smart hub features

First Netflix stopped working after four months, then the entire smart hub stopped working around nine months

I had the player see if there was a fireware update, there was, downloaded and installed, went to the Smart Hub, downloaded and installed the software all in about 10 minutes

Our unit was updated as of 10/12/12 but the smart hub and apps all took about 20 minutes to update themselves to the latest firmwares

As for the "Smart Hub", I was unimpressed.

I found apps like YouTube to be archaic compared to my T27A950 smart tv and even my PS3's smart hub layout

and it takes 30 seconds or so to load Smart Hub from menu

Pros:Setup was fairly quick, it was under ten minutes to get it updated and install Smart Hub

I did purchase this unit for the Smart Hub

When you first take it out of the box before you do anything you MUST go to the Settings Menu connect the unit to your wifi internet and immediately let it update for both the unit's firmware and the smart hub apps

Now the lastest software upgrade to the product has removed some of the applications to the Smart Hub---notably, You Tube is no longer an option.

The interface is feature-filled yet simple to navigate while the Samsung Smart Hub is a little clunky and let's face it, slow

Even if you find your unit has the latest firmware make sure the smart hub apps also have the latest updates
