    Samsung BD-D5700 3D Blu-ray Disc Player (Black) [2011 MODEL]

    • This model is so bad in fact, that I do not hesitate to recommend to my friends and family to buy a cheap Bluray player (non-Samsung brand) and then just get a stand-alone media player like Roku to handle Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, et
    • Its just fine as a dvd-blueray player, and the wireless is just fine too out of the box.
    • But...- The player is sluggish
    • The player will work fine for 1 week to 3 months and then all I will get is audio and no video.
    • The player is sleek and easily fits into our enetrainment cabinet.
    • I've owned this player for less than a year, and in that time it's performance has degraded considerably.
    • But we did notice that if the microwave oven is on or if there are lots of devices (iPads, laptops, etc...) in the vicinty using the internet (especially for strenuous high data streaming stuff) then this player will not hold a good signal and will repeatedly freeze during long-playing Netflix movies
    • What a mistake! The player had all of the plastic coverings of a brand new player, or so I thought
    • Picture and sound quality are just as good as my previous player
    • Very poor quality DVD player.
    • Of course it does a great job with Blu Rays, and DVDs, but the beauty of it is really the GREAT media player and it's ability to play every type of media file you throw at it (via USB chip or disk)
    • At first I loved this player
    • Player works fine
    • More over the player freezes frequently
    • This blue ray player is an infuriating piece of landfill fodder that cannot handle the simplest task, a glorified dvd player, and waste of time and money.
    • It doesn't work as well as my Panasonic player
    • You didn't really want to watch anything at that then anyway, right?Even when the player is not giving me grief as described above, the software interface is an embarrassment
    • This a good player for the money.
    • So for an average person, this player is awesome!
    • Then the player broke because we followed the instructions that the tech gave us and it stopped working
    • The player blew out my old flat screen audio 480p
    • This is a "smart" Blu-Ray player that has access to the same "apps" of a Samsung smart TV to include YouTube, Netflix, etc.
    • Great player, had a bit of trouble connecting to Netflix, but finally connected
    • We are definitely in the market for a new blu-ray, wi-fi capable player.
    • If you want a good DVD player and the ability to sream Netflix, this is a good buy.
    • I kept it to 4 stars but it would have been 3 stars if this player was bought for my TV.For what its worth if you get one of these for $40 or
    • ,there is a good PDF on my PC also ,unfortunately you really need to read the instructions it doesnt hook right up but to spend 30 to 45 minutes reading and following the instructions has made me be able to enjoy this player .I hate reading the instructions but not everything is an MP3
    • I bought this player about two months ago, and it worked wonderfully for the first couple of weeks.
    • Update 11/26/11: This player works even better than the first Samsung we got earlier this year - even though it's wi-fi, I find Netflix programs load incredibly fast, while the other player (hard-wired to the router) takes a long time to load a movie
    • The player was terribly slow from the get-go and software update did not help
    • Decent Blue-ray player, however is slow to load when connecting to the internet and apps
    • Reviews of other branded internet capable players don't seem any more compelling
    • Without question you will not find a better player for your money!
    • Samsung has really butchered this player with firmware updates
    • My new players haven't had one issue at all.
    • Since my review, they have added Cinavia DRM protection to the player which prevents you from streaming any 'unauthorized' copies of movies, so if you like to back up your movies to your computer and watch them from there this player is not from you because it will think they have been pirated
    • After returning a Panasonic Panasonic DMP-BDT210 Integrated-Wi-Fi 3D Blu-ray DVD Player which I could NOT connect to the internet
    • This player work great, easy to install
    • I would not recommend this player if you want to utilize the Netflix service on a regular basis
    • Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this player.
    • It doesn't work as well as my Panasonic player
    • This player doesn't just have Netflix, it has Blockbuster, TOO
    • The player is somewhat slow to load and to navigate certain Blu-ray discs (especially Java-heavy discs)
    • The only real con (outside of the slow loading time which afflict all Bluray players) is that its black gloss texture is a dust magnet - but it is not something that semi regular wiping can't rememdy
    • The original product I had was the BD-D5700/ZA, the flaws with the original player were slow/low bandwidth streaming (NOT HD streaming), as well as tediously slow player response
    • This player work great, easy to install
    • I had thought Vizio made the worlds worst blue ray player with apps
    • The player is noisy.
    • I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a well priced Blu-Ray player.
    • I can recommend this player to anyone wishing to purchase Blu-ray Disc Player
    • Other than this (the movie played straight through without problems after 2 re-starts)the player is great.
    • That said, the player is on the 2nd floor of my Mom's house with her Netgear Wifi Router down in the basement and the player still gets a good to strong signal (most likely due to a really good router)
    • you can purchase a cheaper DVD Player to watch DVD's
    • The player is slow
    • you want a good Blu-Ray player that also plays videos from a USB, this one is highly recommended!
    • The player is very easy set up.
    • While it is a nice player, it is far from perfect
    • Best Blu-Ray player I've ever had.
    • There are lots of wireless variables out there and Sammy has developed this player to support a very common band of wireless.
    • Would recommend this blue ray player to anyone looking for wireless connectivity.
    • I just got this player in November, 2011, and I love it so far.
    • In general most bluray players are bad at streaming and
    • This player is terrible, we needed an update and they sent us the wrong one three times
    • The player is VERY sluggish, controls are slow to respond.
    • Buyer beware, though this player is cheaper than many, it's not worth the price!
    • Good Player, Streaming can be a little better, over all I gave it 4 stars.
    • So trust me, if there's a feature you want, this player will have it
    • I tried to replace my old bulky CD player with the Samsung, but whenever I put in a CD, it turns the TV on (probably rightfully so, because it needs to display what it's playing) and I decided not to do this, so I kept the old CD player around.
    • I bought this with the sole intention of using the DLNA compatibility and waching DVDs we have ripped to our server, as I already had a great samsung bluray player
    • I had some trouble with netflix loading to begin with but reset the player and everything has worked great since.
    • Like many others we've owned this player for about 10 months and in that time the performance has gotten worse
    • All-in-all, we are very happy with our choice and I would recommend this to anyone who wants the quality of a nice, higher-end name-bran Blu-Ray player without needing all the bells and whistles that a unit at twice the price would cost
    • Great Player
    • I would highly recommend this player, especially when pairing with a Samsung HD TV.
    • -this player will erroneously report "Network interference" or no network connection even though its network status screen reports good connection
    • This Samsung player works great
    • He would recommend this player to his friends.
    • the player is really slow to navigate
    • This player works well with blu-ray discs.
    • My previous player was great but samsung recently updated the firmware which broke the ability to play many of my 720p mvk files
    • The player is great - it's just got a hole in the front of the unit
    • Overall, I like this player.
    • It amazes me this player which is about 4 models newer than my previous one isn't an advancement. having a max output of 24hz is a deal breaker for someone with a tv that can do more, just thought I would share.
    • This is a very good DVD player
    • This is a great Blu-Ray player.
    • SO for me the Samsung is good DVD players, but forget it for internet connects.
    • because it works 1 time out of 4, and because it's a good blu-ray player, we haven't replaced it
    • Excellent and fast blue-ray player
    • The worst DVD player ever, stopped playing DVD and blu rays, now the wireless doesn't work at all, only connects to the internet using the wired connection
    • We mainly bought this player for Netflix and it is so slow I find myself watching Netflix on my small screen laptop instead of my large TV because this player is so slow
    • The original product I had was the BD-D5700/ZA, the flaws with the original player were slow/low bandwidth streaming (NOT HD streaming), as well as tediously slow player response
    • Then I plugged in Avatar HD 2D (this player does not support 3D), bright big and
    • Sometimes I use an USB HDD formatted with NTFS.The files are mostly avi, mp4 and mkv files with an external srt subtitles file, and the player does a great job supporting all of them.
    • Other than the Netflix problem, the player has the following issues: slow to respond, lack of Amazon Instant, and some DVD playback problems (which I described above)
    • One word of warning this player has built in wireless some cheaper players don't and that can be an expensive lesson.
    • versa).DVD Playback is looks good although most decent players look fine to me in the store
    • That said it is a great looking player that plays BD and DVD discs seamlessly
    • The player is dependable, sturdy, functional and most of all, small in size.
    • I had trouble connecting the player to my home WiFi network (I have at least a half-dozen other devices which connect flawlessly).
    • Also, for anybody coming from something like an XBOX to play movies: this player is SO quiet.
    • Then,I realized that the Wi-Fi had not initialized yet and it seems to crash the player if you hit the button too fast.
    • but this player is so slow
    • I never write reviews, but this player is awful
    • this player is a steal.
    • I'm also unable to update or re-apply the firmware, or apply a previous version of the firmware in an attempt to revert the player back to its former working state.
    • This player set up and worked fine...until I was asked to update.
    • So now I must find another player even though I can't afford it.
    • This player was rated very high by Consumer Reports as well as by Amazon
    • Everything worked as it should.
    • Doesnt play standard dvds nearly as well as my $35 no name player
    • I wanted to wirelessly stream movies and video thru Netflix and YouTube, as well as from my computer
    • The UI for the Netflix and Hulu Plus apps is not as clean as it is on XBOX Live.
