Good quality pictures are sent to my HDTV from the player

Fantastic picture quality, easy to use, works great.

I called Samsung again to see if I could get a drop ship replacement of the unit with an entirely new one, and they told me my only option was to pay for service on the unit (even though I had logged a service call on the unit's Ethernet not working within a month of purchasing the unit).Given that this was an out-of-the-box issue that should have been caught by Quality Assurance testing at the factory, Samsung refuses to stand behind its product

I can listen to CD (or better) quality music through my system with incredible sound.

Great quality picture.

While I was a little bit disappointed that my other blu-ray player gave up so soon (if you can call 3 yrs in the electronics biz 'soon') and am already on to my next one, I really had hoped that by moving up the ladder to the 6500 would have added features as well as quality

I bought this model because of Samsung's outstanding quality

Tried VUDU and found to have great picuture and sound quality

I tried playing a random movie and the quality was terrible along with an unwatchable jumpiness added.

This has got to be the WORST quality blu-ray player in the world

Poor quality

After trying for 3+ solid months of hardware, software, firmware and jelloware updates, I can honestly say the only redeeming quality of this piece of equipment is that I now own something that will allow me to fulfill my "Office Space" dreams of going to town with a baseball bat on a frustrating piece of equipment

The Samsung Blu-Ray has a sharp look and the quality of dvd's are very nice

Looks great, good picture quality, positives stop here1) goes to sleep when not used, when you turn your TV back to blue ray the screen is black, the player needs to be powered off and powered back on, every time to turn back on.2

Why would I pay a dime for anything that doesn't actually work as it's supposed to?

A quick check of Samsung's website showed they have a current firmware update for their first-gen BD-P1000, a gesture that I appreciate as they obviously care about their customers, not to mention the environment.
