The intended purpose is providing smart functions to a dumb plasma, and watching the occasional DVD. for these things, the unit works fine
-
Overall, it seems to massively improve DVD and BD quality substantially
-
I like that you can sort them the way you like, and the response times for loading are about as good as any dedicated DVD or blu ray player
-
I was able to see a 3d movie without a problem and picture quality was awesome (though a function of the TV).I didn't test up-scaling of a regular DVD disc nor its streaming capabilities (I use my TV for streaming) so I cannot comment on that
-
To play DVD Its good.
-
Very nice DVD player, has all the apps and a web browser, easy to set up and get going.
-
Great DVD player.
-
Hooked it up to our Samsung TV and it is the best DVD player we have ever purchased
-
, they both work fine and the movies look great, it upconverts regular dvd to hd quality, however i did loose one of these players because all of the sudden it stopped working would turn on , but would not load the dvd, it literally got stuck inside the unit, i tried opening it to retreive the dvd and the whole thing broke
-
The best dvd player I have had, great product from Samsung and it matches my TV.
-
About 10 years ago I purchased an Elite Pioneer DVD player for $1000.00
-
Our primary reason for purchasing this "smart" DVD player was to stream Netflix
-
Excellent DVD player
-
Every smart DVD player that I've researched seems to have wifi problems, but I'm thinking it's the site they have to connect through.
-
This smart DVD player has a ton of features, but comes with baggage
-
I have a lot of videos in that format that played fine on my old cheap DVD player but this new fancy one can't seem to handle them
-
Great DVD player
-
The DVD player I replaced played all the DVD's I created in Premiere Elements, I had to re-burn all the DVD's I made in Premiere Elements because the original's would not play
-
Price was right and as long as it holds up, this is a great 3D DVD option.
-
Probably the ultimate solution is hooking up a notebook with DVD player and remote capability to a Smart HDTV with apps.
-
It's a 'smart' DVD player, with wireless internet and Apps, so if that something you are looking for this unit has it.
-
Not too crazy about the layout of the smart menu on this device and just a couple months after we bought it, the system will freeze whatever DVD, Blu-Ray, or Netflix show/movie you are watching and then turn itself off and back on
-
Those things called DVD's work too
-
* Great DVD
-
GREAT STREAMING / DVD PLAYER IN ONE
-
I made the mistake of putting a blu ray DVD rental in and it wouldn't come back on or open up
-
The BD-F5900 is a great DVD player that offers some nice apps but if you're expecting a pleasant online experience (as I was), you'll be sorely disappointed
-

I don't have a 3D capable TV (yet), so I can't comment on that, but this is the best DVD player I've owned
-
This is a sexy DVD Player, small sleek and functional.
-
Blu-ray player works good and the 3 D works very well with our Samsung LED TV which has paired 3D glasses.
