I imagine they are dropping the price of this player due to the rediculous condition some of the units are in right out of the box, like mine, but so far seems like a great deal after the simple firmware update.

I would recommend Amazon negotiate better shipping deals with their suppliers.

Also, I don't know if this was a fluke, or what, but a couple of weeks after I bought the 3-D capable Blu-ray player and the sound stopped working completely.

It shouldn't claim to do both if it fails as frequently as it appears to.

After which tested out DVDs, and blu-ray DVDs, and everything works as it should

While the picture might not be as sharp as on an LCD, the difference is noticeable
