I had a bit of hard time getting the hard case to fit and align just right over the soft rubber case - and since it already has intact buttons that are supposed to align with the phone`s buttons, it was a tad of a struggle

It is a 2 piece item.... a soft rubber case that goes on first, and the gold , harder case outside of that
