Soundbar is a vast improvement over cheap small speakers in even the newest nicest new TVs.

My MonoPrice banana clips (for speaker wire) were too big to use, and the speaker wire that cane with them is thin & has clips on the end that go into the power box (plugged into wall/not wireless) so these are a great choice (got refurbs) for the money but having once had a real 5.1 Surround / Stereo receiver setup) they are more of a good Tv sound bar-Easy setup for families.

If you have a proper TV room or bedroom, with the TV in the middle of the wall, and your couch or bed directly opposed, the Soundbar and rear surrounds might be a good option.
