Once memory fails, there's no way to recover your data

Protecting one's personal data is getting increasingly important as data thieves are getting more sophisticated and more of of our personal data is ending up on our computers and personal devices.

Most data I store on other NAS HDD drives which is more cost effective and its slower data access rate isn't hardly noticed.

I boot to login screen on Windows 10 in 11 seconds and because of the faster data transfer rates I seem to even be able to play games at higher graphics settings without lag than I used to

As I said, I do back up my important files regularly, so the losses weren't nearly as bad as they could have been, but beyond just simply losing some of my important data, now I am going to have to buy and wait for a replacement drive, reinstall all of my programs and optimize all of my settings for all of my pro audio software which all takes longer than one might think

A quick google has shown me that many many other people have had their Sandisk Ultra II drives just stop working and have lost all data

If you want an SSD for a laptop, and you store sensitive data on the laptop (do your taxes/finances on it, use it for work & your employer has rules about data, etc.

This product is just plain below par WRT the quality necessary for a person to risk their data on.

Failed on me after 4 months with complete controller failure, making even professional data recovery impossible

The drive is no longer visible in Windows or BIOS, and presumably, all the data on the device has been lost

Cheap but the type of memory is TLC.Always becareful when you buy TLC SSD.I'd pay more and get MLC SSD to secure my data

Had I know it was not, I would not have bought it as we use the self-encrypting feature of SSD's in our laptops, so that if the laptops are lost or stolen, the data is not accessible to the "new owner"
