    Sangean RCR-3 RCR-3 AM/FM Atomic Digital/Analog Clock Radio (White)

    • During setup, I noticed that the dimming feature on the units did not dim the display at the same degree
    • If you leave the clock in dimmed setting and momentarily push a button the display will go bright for a few seconds and then resume the dimmed setting
    • The display goes to full brightness and will not dim.
    • I love the display, the multiple alarms, etc.
    • Other nice things about the clock are its superior looks (a combination of modern digital display with Art Deco features & analog clock display), & the fact that 4 alarms per day can be set & there is a separate alarm setting for each day of the week (including weekends)
    • we cannot see the LED display from our bed because we are at the wrong angle.
    • As with many of the Sangean clocks the digital display is extremely hard to read when you dim the display
    • I love the dual analog/digital display.
    • The displays are quite easy to read during the daylight
    • The analog display is nice when I need to have a visual representation of time and imagine time as slices of pie
    • For example, several people complained that display was too bright, and the rheostat on the bottom didn't work so they had to return the radio.
    • This clock has all the features I want, digital tuner, decent sound, automatic setting and readable display
    • Instructions not easy to understand, I will have my son figure out how to dim the display for me, but I did everything else myself
    • Analog clock face is easy to read across the room without being overly intrusive as with a large LED display.
    • And since I keep the display so dark overnight the meter was reading 0W during that test
    • The display is good and is easy to read.
    • This one has an excellent radio, a good clock display, and many, many features to justify the fact that it costs considerably more than the usual simple clock radio.
    • Two presses of the light button are required to dim the display again
    • The analog display is easy to see from a distance or from in bed without glasses.
    • Minor quibble as the nice digital display is right about the analog.
    • but the display was by far the best
    • The Sangean has a beautiful display, with controllable brightness, an external fm antenna, and the ability to pull in ALL the radio stations that I was missing.
    • The display is great.
    • Great display and good sound quality
    • As at least one other person reported, it also lost the display of the “waves” on either side of the “antenna” graphic of the “radio control” indicator.
    • However... the first one delivered to me had a defective analog display.
    • I love the lighted analog face and the digital display at the top which I can toggle between showing the time and the date
    • The digital display is very nice when I'm semi-conscious and forget how to read the little hand and the big hand
    • Although you can dim the display to an acceptable level for bedside use, it increases to maximum brightness whenever you touch a control
    • I am very nearsighted, so the analog display with light background and black hands works very well for me at night
    • it has an LED display and while you can dim it down and turn the light totally off, if you want to see the clock at night you have to turn the back light up so high that the whole room is glowing with light. for us, this was a deal breaker and it will have to go back.
    • to see the LED display you have to be above the clock and our bed is below it.
    • Minor quibble as the nice digital display is right about the analog.
    • I have suffered with a cheap s@ny clock radio for years.
    • For the price, it just has too many quirks that bothered me, such as -- Too difficult to set alarms
    • This has become a real problem since the unexpected brightness of the clock in the middle of the night will actually be so intense as to wake us up.
    • Analog clock face is easy to read across the room without being overly intrusive as with a large LED display.
    • I live in an area of "radio shadow" between hills but had no problem picking up the NIST time signal, and pull in AM and FM about as well as from a good standalone portable radio
    • Unfortunately, the little table I set my clock upon must not be a good place to receive good signals (waves?), so when I try to listen to the radio, it's often static-y unless I sit right in front of it
