We live in Los Angeles so we get first-rate reception, and, as I said, I was pleasantly surprised by the rich sound quality for a compact radio--with a lot of added features

On the plus side, the "radio" aspect of this clock radio worked quite well (good reception, good sound quality), but if the "clock" aspect of a clock/radio doesn't work, it basically defeats the purpose.

Unfortunately, the little table I set my clock upon must not be a good place to receive good signals (waves?), so when I try to listen to the radio, it's often static-y unless I sit right in front of it
