    Sangean RCR-3 RCR-3 AM/FM Atomic Digital/Analog Clock Radio (White)

    • Time sync does not work in my area.
    • I do not like not having the backup battery thou, and the manual sucks big time, but I love it anyway.
    • He absolutely loves the back-light feature and how it synchronizes to the correct time with the nearest atomic clock via the radio
    • but I discovered that if you manually set the clock for about the correct time it syncs up faster
    • Now one of them is losing time after less than one year and unable to return..
    • When I checked back (over an hour later), the time was correct!
    • Once at 1:15am (the wrong time), and again at 6:15 (the right time).2
    • I use this radio at home every day, and it works just fine and keeps the time dead on
    • Also every time the radio is used I lose the atomic clock signal and another 24 hours or more before it get's the signal again.
    • It might sync when first plugged in but at some point stops moving and sticks on the wrong time
    • However, while one radio worked perfectly and was able to set the time properly, the other radio's time setting failed, and the second hand froze.
    • To clarify, the clock will maintain time for anywhere from 1 to 3 hrs if the power fails but the alarm will not sound.
    • I find that it does not always pick up the radio broadcast to keep super accurate time, but it's still a good clock.
    • Sure enough, around ten p.m. the analogue clock hands started spinning and set the clock to the correct time
    • I was having a hard time finding clock-radios that have a 24-hr option
    • To be honest, this is my first serious, grown-up alarm clock, but I have spent so much time online agonizing over the features of different alarm clocks that I feel my delight in this alarm clock is informed rather than simply influenced by the novelty of having a clock that has more than a snooze and power button
    • And the automatic time sync works perfectly.
    • but I think the time has lapsed and I no longer have the packing material
    • No finger gymnastics of trying to hold multiple buttons down or having to go all the way around the dial because you missed the time you wanted
    • I love the way this clock functions but it is missing a key feature - the ability to disable the radio controlled time.
    • This radio performs well, both AM and FM, keeps accurate time, but, my goodness, who designed this Rube Goldberg-like radio
    • It keeps great time and allows me to program separate wake-up times for workdays and weekends, with the option of an alarm or radio wake-up sound.
    • When it did finally stop it was the wrong analog time
    • The time keeping feature tracks the signal very well.
    • I live on the East Coast and on the second night the clock analog clock at the bottom got "stuck" exactly 5 hours behind the correct time which continued to be displayed on the digital clock on top.
    • PERFECT time every day! There are two items on this clock radio that I would do differently on the next edition, should there be one:1.
    • thousands!).The set up was quite simple, it keeps flawless time, and what I would call the perfect feature is the ability to set an alarm time for days OTHER THAN the usual Monday thru Friday.
    • Perhaps the most bothersome deisgn issue is the fact that lighting of both displays is super bright every time one touches the radio controls
    • However, where I live the power may blink off and then come back up, but doesn't stay off, so the capacitor in the Sangean saves my settings and the atomic clock will make sure the time is correct.
    • Within 5 minutes, the digital clock was displaying the correct date and time.
    • However, while one radio worked perfectly and was able to set the time properly, the other radio's time setting failed, and the second hand froze.
    • I still have not been able to set the alarm so that it goes off at the right time
    • You can set the digital readout above the clock dial to show the time, date, or day of the week, like "SEP23 TUE" or "2014 TUE"
    • Once at 1:15am (the wrong time), and again at 6:15 (the right time).2
    • My eye always goes to the atomic clock first, then the LED clock and the time was always out of sync
    • I don't usually snooze my alarm, but when i do, I want at least enough time to drift back to sleep (7-10min)
    • Finally, I have found a radio that has all these attributes as well as keeping accurate time and date.
    • The little antennae symbol blinks at me benignly, but I don't know if it's just attempting to catch a signal or whatever or if it's broadcasting its success in telling me the most correct-est time ever
    • Keeps perfect time
    • It is always the wrong time - every 12 hours at around 8:11 it syncs with the radio clock
    • This is unfortunate, because I used this feature whenever I needed to get up at an unusual time or day for an appointment or travel
    • The auto signal works great for me, but even if it didn't you can disable the feature and set the time manually, just like any other alarm clock
    • I've owned about three Oregon Scientific Atomic clock managed alarm clocks over the years - just like to have accurate time.
    • To keep accurate time, I would have to set the clock periodically myself.
    • I will try one more time to master the "three" and "four" radio alarm settings--if "no go" then back for a refund it will go!
    • you watch the hands magically set themselves to the correct time!
    • The Humane Waking System also did not work the very first time with the Radio alarms only (they came on at full volume the first time one of them was set).
    • Second time was the charm.
    • Not only did the time refuse to sync either with that master clock someplace in Colorado or a local FM RDS station, even setting the time manually proved to be impossible
    • The lower resistor value changes the time constant for the light dimming when you press the light button, but this isn't a problem for me.
    • so I would know the time was right.
    • It works but every time you touch one of the buttons the light comes on at its full brightness
    • Four alarms, always correct time, good radio, good ergonomics, good looks
    • If anyone is looking for a superb gift idea for someone who likes precise time and has to wake up earlier than their bodies might prefer to wake up, this is a terrific choice!
    • And for the automatic time sync, the switch on the bottom has to be set to the proper time zone.
    • The very first alarm that I set did not go off, at all, the very first time I set it.
    • I was looking for a clock radio with preset stations, decent fidelity, and a time that I could read at night without glasses
    • By the time I got back to it, the clock was reading the right time (as I expected) and the alarms were correctly set (surprise).Other reviewers have provided detailed feature descriptions that I mostly agree with.
    • More recently, one of the four alarms only works about half the time
    • (Most consumers are not aware that many electric companies have slightly altered the standard 60hz cycle of AC current, which makes many electric and electronic clocks run slightly off perfect time, requiring resetting)Buyers that commented that "the dial just spins and spins..." and concluded a malfunction just didn't wait long enough, the clock is setting itself and syncing with the atomic signal.
    • IT LOOKS GREAT IN ITS PLACE,BEAUTIFUL WHITE COLOR,ACCURATE TIME
