Its position when all the way down is much too low, it wouldn't even clear the height of the back of my couch which would certainly muffle any sound.

Also, the plastic connectors that hold the top and bottom sections of shaft together, are very cheap, mine broke as I attempted to tighten to hold both sections together.

If you want to use this stand, do not use 14g or more as it will not work.
