Sanus Adjustable Height Speaker Stand - Extends 28" to 38" - Holds Satellite & small Bookshelf Speakers (i.e. Bose, Harmon Kardon, Polk, JBL, KEF, Klipsch, Sony and others) - Set of 2 - Model: HTBS

    • The problem is with the height adjustment as they small plastic ring that is supposed to hold the two pieces together at the maximum height simply does not work.
    • - The height adjuster was made out of cheap plastic, tightening it enough to keep the stands in place was tough and it seemed like the tightest setting did not have a good grip on the stand.
    • That part is pretty cheap plastic.
    • It wasn't like any of my previous cheap plastic/metal stands
    • The clamp mechanism is made of cheap plastic
    • My speakers were slightly over weight but the only thing that keeps the upper steel arm from sliding down into the lower steel arm is a large flimsy black plastic washer.
    • It's cheap, weak plastic.
    • As you tighten the plastic connector (which many are complaining to feel cheap), the conical top part of the connector comes down on the c-clamp (seen in the photo on my hand) and tightens it around the top thinner tube of the stand
    • Plastic can fail and crack if overtightened, and I wish they had used metal
    • But the plastic stopper that is supposed to control the rod from dropping down, is made out of cheap plastic
    • It may just be a bad plastic clamp but either way, for $40, I was expecting a little more from these stands.
    • The rest of the product is built from good parts, but this particular mechanism is cheap plastic.
    • The connection point between the two barrels is also made of cheap plastic that could probably break.
    • The base is very heavy and all the points of connection are metal unlike my last set that had plastic mounting hardware(which broke).
    • nice product and sturdy but the hight adjustment ring is made of plastic and the rest is all metal, just be careful not to over tight as it might break.
    • However, the stands are not as compatible as I would like them to be
    • it now has an odd s curve
    • Also, the plastic connectors that hold the top and bottom sections of shaft together, are very cheap, mine broke as I attempted to tighten to hold both sections together.
