I bought both the Schoolworks and the Scotch 5 inch blunt kids scissors, and the Scotch was much better, with tight blades that cut things like paper and plastic bags well, whereas the loose blades on the Schoolworks just sort of mashed the material together, so that it got stuck between the blades, instead of cutting them.

You can purchase less expensive scissors but they are frustrating for the kids who have trouble cutting at a young age anyway, as they do not cut well.
