Seagate 2TB FireCuda Gaming SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) - 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Hard Drive (ST2000DX002)

    • It's performance is almost at the level of a solid state drive, but it has the capacity of a large hard disk drive.
    • From what I understand, solid state hard drives offer better performance than traditional hard drives
    • 2TB FireCuda Gaming SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) -
    • The Solid State portion is managed by the drive and while I honestly have no idea how it is utilized, I do notice a gain in processing speed and virtually zero lag time between processes.
    • I didn't see the word hybrid, because I used my phone and the picture was to small to notice that it was not a 100% solid state
    • spend the extra 50$ and get a true solid state drive if you are gaming.
    • I can already see that 'The Future' of Computing will move more and more to Solid State and i was
    • Solid State Drives are still a little expensive at the near 1TB levels so I bought a 250GB SSD with my operating system installed and then bought this for everything else
    • It functions like any other drive, the solid state memory is the big deference.
    • Still faster then a traditional disk drive but has nothing on a solid state drive.
    • Great Drive, quiet, not sure if Win 7 takes advantage of the solid state part, it's not booting up any faster, (but this is from a recovery, not a 'clean install'...
    • Very Fast Solid State Hybrid Drive, Windows 10 boots in less than 15 sec
    • Guys, let's face it...2TB solid state drives are insanely expensive (over 500 USD)
    • The majority of PC builders use an SSD to install their operating system & programs on and a secondary hard disk drive (HDD) for files & media, and while this is the ideal way to go (as you'll always get SSD speeds while the SSHD's solid state cache frequently moves data to and from the hard disk), if you're on a tight budget and can only build a single-drive system, the FireCuda is the ticket with the 2TB model costing as much as a 250GB SSD (a remarkable value at five cents per gigabyte and $50 per terabyte) and performing similarly at booting up your OS, running software, and playing videogames
    • This is a Hybrid drive, so what that means is that now that solid state memory is so cheap the hd manufacture has taken what used to be a very small 64MB prefetch cache that existed on regular hard drives, and beefed it it up to 8 GB.
    • In fact, the FireCuda benchmarks just as fast as a typical solid state drive in many instances (even faster by a second or two in a couple)
    • Because the actual solid state is minimal its primarily used as a buffer thats why the best use for these drives is when fast booting is needed , definately a big improvement over a standard 7200rpm drive
    • Five year warranty, and 8 Gbytes of solid state drive to get you up and running as much as 26 times faster than a standard hard
    • w Seagate,.But not only was i going from Mechanical to Solid State but also from One Brand to
    • The ST1000DX002 has a solid state portion that is used to cache data while saving costs of a full solid state drive
    • Works great and it might be a placebo, but I think the Solid State cache has improved load times in my games like Witcher 3 and XCOM 2.
    • I replace the hard drive in my old Mac with the new Seagate solid-state drive very easy installation no problems at all much faster than it used to be.
    • The "FireCuda" model of Seagate drives is a SSHD -- a Solid State Hybrid Drive.
    • It has the snappiness you expect from SSD's, and has the affordability of the slower but much cheaper non solid state drives
    • This is a 7200 RPM solid state 3.5 inch drive.
    • I had good luck with the Seagate 1TB FireCuda Gaming SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive)
    • I love it, it works well and solid state drives are the future.
    • It has the snappiness you expect from SSD's, and has the affordability of the slower but much cheaper non solid state drives
    • Pretty damned slow: stick with true solid state this hybrid Crap is slow!!
    • I replaced the HDD with the “Seagate 2TB Firecuda (Solid State Hybrid
    • , I realized that if i bought the 2 gig drive I'd double my capacity, Also be able to test out the concept of using a 'Solid State' drive
    • I've replace numerous drives with these as the price of solid state is far too much
    • Seagate's solid state hybrid drive (SSHD) design in which the most frequently accessed files are moved from the mechanical hard disk portion to the solid state portion for faster speeds are simply remarkable
    • I've used this solid state hybrid drive for about three months.
    • Almost as fast as a solid state drive
    • I confess that when I recently built my last desktop PC (Feb 2016) and was thinking about my storage options I didn't consider a hybrid drive or better a SSHD - solid state hard drive
    • The drive Seems to be working fine, The only con is my WD black drives seem to be just as fast without the solid state memory.
    • For these reasons, I consider the FireCuda (and solid state hybrid drives in general) somewhat of a niche storage device - excellent at certain tasks and incompetent at others
    • They aren't as fast as solid state but amazingly faster than standard.
    • I needed a fair amount of space with fast search speeds but didn't want to drop a ton of money on a solid state drive.
    • This Seagate drive is has very quick response and, although it is a hybrid drive, it is close to a solid state drive in performance
    • Since the drive comes with some solid state cache memory, it CAN be incredibly fast (do any of you remember using RAM disks on the old PCs?) - if your computer is repeatedly reading and writing a lot from the same parts of your disk drive then this can now be fast - I say CAN because it all rather depends on how much disk drive real estate you use repeatedly - if it is too much real
    • Cache Gaming SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) (ST2000DX002) is an outstanding deal from Seagate!
    • Performance is less than my solid state drive and about equal to a standard hard drive
    • Seagate 2TB FireCuda Gaming SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) -
    • and I am oversold on the speed solid state brings
    • It delivers very high-level performance at a great price where it excels, but where it doesn't, a solid state or hard disk drive is the better option.
    • I'm not using it enough to benefit from the Solid State component, but I considered the 5 year warranty worth it
    • I bought it as a secondary hard drive to store music and movies, but when my solid state drive was getting full, I threw a few games on here too
    • The Solid State subpart to the drive made my computer *much* faster, without spending a fortune on pure solid state drive capacity.
    • It plays them just as a fast and efficient as my solid state drives, and was way cheaper
    • Cache Gaming SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) (ST2000DX002)It's quick...it holds a lot of data
    • Until the inevitable evolution to more economical full solid-state storage, they provide the higher capacity of a traditional HDD with some increase in access speed
    • This hard drive is ok but not speedy as a solid state
    • I confess that when I recently built my last desktop PC (Feb 2016) and was thinking about my storage options I didn't consider a hybrid drive or better a SSHD - solid state hard drive
    • Solid state drives such as this one combine the affordability of traditional spinning drives with the speed and durability of more expensive solid state drives
    • I am truly a believer of the Seagate Solid State Drive
    • I normally trust Western Digital, but they seem to have stopped making solid state hard drives
    • Why would you purchase a solid state drive for 250 USD today when in 2 years it's going to be half the price?
    • Seagate 1TB FireCuda Gaming SSHD (Solid State Hybrid Drive) -
    • I normally trust Western Digital, but they seem to have stopped making solid state hard drives
    • I would recommend a solid-state Seagate drives anybody that needs one
    • The concept of combing fast solid state memory with a standard harddrive seemed like a interesting idea, however, so I installed the Seagate 2TB FireCuda with the intention of using it for program files in the hope of speeding up load times
    • At this point in time, I'm not sure if I need to "train" the FireCuda over a longer period of time or whether the programs I'm testing are just too large for the internal 8GB solid state memory within the FireCuda
    • but still want your OS and commonly used programs/games to load quickly... solid state hybrid drives are the way to go
    • This hard drive is ok but not speedy as a solid state
    • It took awhile to see the real proformance boost and I wish there was software for managing the solid state portion of the drive
    • Nice and fast, put in a new build, much faster then standard drives without the added expense of the Solid State Drives.
    • Solid State Hybrid
    • Solid state drives such as this one combine the affordability of traditional spinning drives with the speed and durability of more expensive solid state drives
    • Best alternitive you can get to expensive SSD’s
    • Good as it described
    • Maybe now as fast as a true SSD but client needed speed and space.
    • Not as fast as a
    • Awesome, perfect price point , perfect capacity, easy setup, not as fast as an
    • For the ones that would run in Windows, it would start and then at some point start moving so slow as to never complete.
    • I thought I would have to ante up $500+ for a 2TB SSD, but I have no hiccups with this drive and everything is as smooth and fast as I would dream
    • Again, not as great as my SSD, and not quite as great as I was hoping
    • Not as fast as a
