The stock hard drive that this replaced wowed me with rotation speed and good for it's time storage, but was hindered with an IDE chip with SATA interface

But as for faster than the stock hard drive?

Put stock hard drive in and everything works fine.

But once the space ran out of the stock hard drive it was impossible not to buy this

Those stock hard drives tend to be pretty basic

I notice the improve performance as compared to the stock hard drive

It does seem quieter than the stock hard drive, so the people saying it's noisy or clicking must have gotten duds

But the main reason I got it is because of the Solid State cache, it is expected to speed up some games after several uses, I've seen the speed improve on the TV/Media apps that happen to take even minutes to load on the stock hard drive and now are way more responsive

Its fast and better then the stock drives that come with MSI Apache series.

The PS4's menu items suddenly became very laggy after a game crashed, and the issue was alleviated after switching back to the stock hard drive
