I've never had any problems with the external hard drive until two days ago

After it passed, and the play station booted up, I got a message that the hard drive would have to be reformatted

Note that I don't use this as a portable drive - it just sits there next to my PS4 Pro, away from any hot air vents, etc

Just plugged into the ps4 and it recognized it and then just went to the storage in settings and was very easy to move everything to the hard drive
