The rule is to always have an exact copy of your data in 2 separate (physical) places, either by manual copying between disks, or for the advanced users between us to setting up a RAID 1 array for automatic clone (mirror) of one disk to the other; even if it costs somewhat more (if not doubled) at first, in the long run when one of your precious disks fail you’d be very happy that you had a backup

What can I say, it's a 2TB(1800GB Formatted) hard disk

I have also since then tried the WD Gold 2 2TB (good performance, but loud disk spinning sound and loud read/write clicks), the Seagate Exos 7E2 and newer Exos 7E8)

Hard Disk sentinel tells me that this HD has 1 platter and 2 heads, and spins at 5000 RPM.

But more important, I am testing the disks now and they are failing again!!

know if I got a bad disk or these things are just that slow

I download disc wizard from Seagate to add it as new disk but still can working.

If I was paying more attention and take responsibility I'd probably replaced the disk before it finally died

If that is what you need, then this is a great disk

Keep in mind that having local disks require maintenance, and that hard drives do fail when they wear

This is 80 dollar item, and if you miss a step or take a wrong path, the whole disk can become useless.

It is a very slow disk to write - expect 80-120 MB performance and you more fill it the slower it became

It's a hard disk, so I figured that I would use it for mass storage

Being a traditional hard disk, you must be careful if you're looking for something to install heavy games, titles like Forza, Farcry or Doom most likely will have problems at this data transfer rate

Disk was Damaged

Unusable and painful as a main system disk.

And as of today, I have had to replace all 5 of them due to failure of the SMART Drive Self Test, which indicates a disk may be failing and should be replaced.
