but if you plug in one capable of fast charging you occasionally get a flashing blue and green light and humming sound

You do need a fast charging power adapter (plug in box) in order to use the fast charging option, the charger does come with only the usb power cord as advertised

Works great, absolutely no issues with fast charging as long as you don;t use a super thick case on the back of your phone.

For example, on my Samsung Galaxy S8 using the Samsung adaptive fast charging wall charger plugged into the cable that came with this device will charge my phone in 1 hr 40 min when starting at 50% charge

It's advertised as fast charge, but it's too slow for my needs.
