On the positive side, the lengthy cord proved a tempting target for my evil kitty - who soon destroyed it, so I now have a good excuse to get a better sounding pair of headphones (might be time to go wireless).

For those who prefer a short cord, I'm skeptical about the effectiveness of the enclosed cord take-up.

The cord's long enough to plug them into your stereo/PC and relax on the sofa at home and the portable 'cord carrier' (?),that clips onto your belt,makes it easy to plug them into your cellphone so you can listen to music while exercising or riding the bus.

Only trouble is the terrible excessively long cord.

The 10 ft cord is a plus as well because it's used with my PS3 and a little distance from the monitor is a good thing.

For $20 more I'd recommend the Superlux HD688B, much better build quality/audio and with a detachable cord you never have to worry about issues with damaging the cable.
