After listening to a range of songs, I wouldn’t say that the bass is muddy

The bass is audible without being obtrusive, and the highs are very clean and pleasant

But these phones pack some great bass that provides more of and umph for pop and more contemporary music in general

The strange part is overall these provide a very clean audio experience with a more prominent bass than the 598

so I'm no audiophile, but I can say that these have crystal clear highs and mids, and the bass is really tight and also clear not distorted and overpowering

Not into overpowered bass sounds at all

I actually like the bass on HD 599 alot better than the ATH-m50x which I wasn't expecting

However, listening to Sublime with Rome while these are amped make their already overpowered bass guitar even more so and it drowns out some other parts of the track

The upper bass is likewise crisp to the point of intrusiveness.

It's hard to put audio with words, but essentially the lower-mids/bass sound louder than the vocal range

The bass seems a bit stronger and deeper with these almost to the point of being too much, but I quickly realized this was from my previous headphones having terrible bass response and this is what it should have sounded like
