The sound is perfect.

I much prefer headphones over ear buds for the simple reason, the sound is originates further from your ear drum, so louds are not as loud vs. being right next to you drum.

The sound is crisp, the cushions and leather are very premium feeling, and the creamy color just puts the cherry on top

These headphones had amazing sound quality and comfort but the passive sound isolation was mediocre at best

The HD598s have identical mid response and tone in my A/B testing, but are a hair slower and slushier making for slightly less aggressive sound

Unfortunately the 990's had worse sound quality than the 770 (a bit harsher sounding and not as clear) and were very uncomfortable even after only a couple of hours

These have a superb, smooth, pleasing sound that is never fatiguing or harsh

Their electrical impedance (basically a measure of resistance/how much the signal needs to be amplified to drive the headphones properly) is fairly low at 50 Ohms, meaning that they can be plugged straight into most mobile devices and still have great sound

When amped, turning up the sound makes the music sound cluttered and overwhelming

First, it provides a little relief when the sound gets a tad too loud, sort of, an escape hatch.

It's hard to put audio with words, but essentially the lower-mids/bass sound louder than the vocal range

but I do appreciate good sound.
