Sennheiser HD 650 Open Back Professional Headphone

    • very clear, detailed, and made me a believer in open ear headphones.
    • Everything sounds great, extremely clean and extremely detailed on the HD 650.
    • He describes everything that is felt, in excruciatingly accurate detail - her eyes, her hair, the smell, the breeze blowing past, the birds in the trees, the feel of her lips - etc., yet, it...lacks...emotion.
    • Noticably better detailed audio
    • The better the source quality the more detailed and transparent they get
    • As noted by most reviews, great sound and detail and really needs a proper amp to get the best sound out of these
    • The bass register lacks fine detail and resolution
    • It is a tremendous combination, very musical yet neutral, and with great inner detail and soundstage (for a headphone)
    • The sound is smooth and balanced with incredible clarity and detail.
    • The detail I can hear in my recordings is absolutely astounding.
    • Sure, they kind of fill in some slight gaps and muddy details and are not very neutral for this price range, but it is nice to have one pair of headphones that puts all of the details, good or bad, right in your face and another pair that will make even lesser recordings sound good.
    • I hear details I never noticed before, and the open-back design facilitates a real feeling of space.
    • Midrange is smooth (somewhat overly smooth like it was sanded down) and moderately well detailed
    • You won't quite be able to hear EVERY TIME one of the band members farts like on the HD 800, but these are very well-suited for relaxing, and can still provide more than enough detail to create an immersive and satisfying music-listening experience.
    • This is the headphone you use to relax after a long day of work while still being able to enjoy the fine details in your favorite song
    • Its balanced, i liked especially detail of mid range
    • While the Grado's have an excellent reputation and extraordinary detail in the midrange, they do not have strong bass and are "on ear" headphones that I find uncomfortable to wear for any reasonable length of time.
    • The bass register lacks fine detail and resolution
    • One thing I must say is that if you want to listen to jazz, new age or similar music, the Grado 352's are much better because they deliver a brighter, more detailed sound
    • the have incredible detail, a tight and punchy bass, the highs roll off at just the right
    • The headphones reproduce the sound with incredible details
    • Indeed they are laid back and perhaps "veiled" as some say, but it's a good thing and you're not losing any detail.
    • The ideal user for this product is someone who takes pride in the products they own, appreciates the fine details associated with the listening experience and someone who considers themselves and “audiophile.”I used the following criteria when evaluating this product:-Comfort-Durability-Sound quality-Aesthetics-PriceWhen you first put these on you will realize that these are very comfortable and enjoyable to wear.
    • Detail, clarity and resolution are much better on the 400i's.
    • While I had these I was also listening to the Monoprice m1060, at the same price point as these, and those headphones were much more accurate, and much more detailed
    • It lacks the fine detail, resolution, impact, and causes the realism of the music to be fatiguing to listen to quickly
    • You can hear sounds in your movies or songs that you never new were there in sharp tight open detail amazing
    • and I could begin to hear everything in great detail.
    • That's cute, but to do this they have colored all the audio ranges with a "creamy" sound that dulls all the details
    • I really loved the sound of the 595s, but even their great sound is just a mere shadow of the crisp clarity and detail you get from the 650s.
    • It lacks the fine detail, resolution, impact, and causes the realism of the music to be fatiguing to listen to quickly
    • Grados, for example, are very bright, fast, detailed and have a superb mid-range which makes them good for rock and any thing with fast instrument play, like Jazz
    • With the HD650 you are right in the middle, and it is right in the middle of you, with amazing detail in spatial separation, even distance
    • All in all I enjoyed the P7's more (easier on the head, more detail in the highs, and a musical experience that came closer to studio or live)
    • If you like a laid-back, really mellow phone with no personality, you might like these
    • I am etiher getting accustomed to the sound or they are improving as I use them more
    • In excellent condition as well--almost as if they were never opened :D Thank you!
    • So I looked at Sennheiser other phones as well as
    • and I absolutely love them months after purchasing just as much as I did the first day.
    • The HD650's may not have the fancy technologies of orthodynamic or electrostatic units, nor the pricey parts and accessories, but they definitely sound nearly as good and even better in some ways
    • I have found they sound marvelous with vintage Marantz receivers that can be obtained inexpensively, as well as from modern dedicated headphone amps
    • The headphones were nice enough to put the Braille letter L on the left side but the cable has no such thing.
