Only thing i could not understand is the top "retract-section" (as i would call it) is longer in size than otherwise one would see in retractable ball pen or gel pen, ratio wise

They haven't dried out yet and don't smear the pen below.

Cross between a retractable pen and a highlighter.

I clicked the pen to try it out, and all its inner parts "exploded" everywhere: the retractable button, inner spring, black clip, and ink cylinder

The retractable tip works well - after several months the pens are all still "juicy" and work great.

Yellow pen is good, but green one is not so.
