Shure M44-7 Standard DJ Turntable Cartridge

    • These are good, high-output cartridges, I don't have a problem with them, but now that they are popular Shure has doubled the price of the replacement stylus to about $35
    • The legendary Shure M44-
    • sounds great, but shure always does
    • Shure has won me over.
    • In fact, I notice little difference between the sound of this cartridge / stylus and the much more expensive Shure V15 type VMR that I was using previously.
    • Being new to the turntables and short on funds I had decided to purchazse a Shure SC35C DJ Turntable Cartridge as well as a Shure M44-7 Cartridge
    • The only thing is, everyone at our house after hearing both cartridges, all agree that the Shure M44-7 cartridge offers a more powerful and convincing musical experience
    • They don't fit in the cartridge right and don't sound as good as original Shure products
    • I could almost swear the low frequency response has been increased over the originals, albeit 20 or so years have passed in the meantime with the 681's, so I might just chalk it up to expectation bias. ;)I'll be purchasing another for a backup pair I think, and hitting up the -7-H's out as well to see the differences
