Even though the advertising on the universal one he purchased said “Roku compatible” we found out after we started programming that it was not going to work

They should be afraid that Roku is going to steal their idea and just integrate its functions into the standard remotes.

After the exploding Note 7s I wasn't going to take a chance, but please make these safer, because Roku is crazy for not including these functions.

I love the Roku remote because you don't have to point it at the box

All 7 of the 8 TVs have one and the 1 without is a Sharp Roku TV so it is built in.

It also makes the remote a bit less ergonomic, which makes me kinda sad because the Roku remote is just so darned comfortable in your hand

This is great when you need to access functions of your receiver or other devices while enjoying your Roku.

How dumb that Roku has not thought of this.

My Roku remote has volume control buttons, but they didn't work for me since my soundbar is connected via optical, so you can't control the volume through the TV, only on the soundbar itself.

But the Sideclick just kills the Roku remote's ergonomics

To bad Roku is missing the boat on this with their own remotes.

I'd say for anything over $15 it becomes too expensive especially when you consider the new Roku remote has this functionality built in – compare the price of a speedy new Roku and remote to this little bit wiggly headphone port blocker and you will start to wonder about the value.

Far preferable to many of the roku capable universal remotes, which tend to either be slow, or only work with the Box versions of roku (not the sticks) because they require line of sight, but can be problematic in specific situations

Whatever the cause, the Roku remote is rendered useless until it is re-bound to the Roku box

It really makes a pretty sleek remote (Roku) very wide and uncomfortable to hold.
