Sigma 50mm F1.4 ART DG HSM Lens for Nikon

    • In focus areas are tack sharp, even at f/1.4The bokeh is super blurry and very pleasing
    • This is a sharp enough lens only if you stop it down from wide open, the autofocus hunts badly in low light, and the bokeh is very clunky-ugly even
    • Bokeh looks like film almost.
    • The only negative is the bokeh can be a little harsh in some lighting conditions
    • Beautiful and creamy BOKEH
    • The bokeh is very disappointing and just not pleasing in my opinion
    • amazing bokeh and beautiful colors.
    • Also, the Sigma 50's bokeh while much smoother than the Sigma 35, lacks the silky quality of the Canon's primes...particularly the Canon 85 1.2 and 50 1.2 (which I owned for a while).
    • my photos have that crisp quality i was looking for now... it also makes an amazing BOKEH!!
    • This is my favorite lens andIve used almost every canon L lens under $3000.Its crazy sharp, awesome bokeh, no distortion or vignette that a human being would notice.
    • Some say the Canon has better bokeh, but I gotta say that not once have I looked at the bokeh on this Sigma lens and never have I wished that the bokeh were better
    • Every clear image I have is beautiful and the bokeh is amazing
    • F1.4 is usable, low light usabilityCons: Bulky, heavy, weak Bokeh
    • Amazing lens, beautiful bokeh
    • Center of the photo is extremely crisp when shooting at f/1.4, with the corners losing slight sharpness...but whatever you might lose in sharpness at the corners is more than made up for with the soft bokeh this lens produces at f/1.4.
    • Great colors and nice creamy bokeh
    • The bokeh is 2nd to none and the sharpness blows my 24-70mm L out of the water.
    • Sure metal makes it feel more substantial and "pro" grade, but high-quality plastics feel just as great and cut down on the weight.-The Bokeh is nice when the background is simple, and at certain focus distances, but it becomes extremely nervous and distracting when the background is not simple
    • It has amazing bokeh and the chromatic aberration is controlled very well
    • F1.4 is usable, low light usabilityCons: Bulky, heavy, weak Bokeh
    • So sharp and the bokeh is great
    • This is my favorite lens andIve used almost every canon L lens under $3000.Its crazy sharp, awesome bokeh, no distortion or vignette that a human being would notice.
    • The third photo is a just an example of the lens's gorgeous bokeh
    • The only flaw is the bokeh, a little nervous and with irregular shapes, much worse than the one from Nikkor 58mm 1.4.
    • It's sharp, fast, and has great bokeh.
    • It's the sharpest 50mm DSLR Lens but its bokeh is a mess and exposure are off on my Nikon body
    • This lens is very sharp, the bokeh is great and so is the color rendition
    • After developing my raw files optimally using both Lightroom and Canon Digital photo - I find the Canon 50mm f/1.2L bokeh visibly superior to the Sigma one.
    • The bokeh from this f1.4 lens is unbelievable smooth and silky that provides excellent subject isolation.
    • Oh the bokeh is very rough at close distance and very wide opening
    • The bokeh is amazing at 1.4
    • This lens is incredibly sharp and has beautiful bokeh when it's wide open
    • Smooth bokeh, sharp wide
    • There are some compaints on other reviews that worries me is the bokeh, but honestly The bokeh was perfectly fine with really round lights on the background but the blur is not as good compared to my friends canon 1.2 even at 1.4 aperture
    • I think the bokeh's fine
    • See below.-Great bokeh at some distances.-Nice hood with a rubberized ring that works very well and stores nicely flipped on the lens.now for the things that can be improved, aka my wish list:-Some weather sealing
    • It produces sharper images and still gives a nice bokeh.
    • This lens has gorgeous bokeh and I'm so happy with the result I've gotten.
    • But for all practical purposes, F1.4 is most likely used to create nice bokeh with portrait or arty shots where you want to blur most the frame anyways, and extreme corner is unlikely to be used
    • It also produces some wonderful Bokeh Balls ;-)There are a few cons though
    • Stunning image quality, incredible bokeh, fantastic depth of field control, beautiful color and sharp edges.
    • The images that do come out sharp are very very nice and the bokeh is wonderful, however the calibration dock is a must if you want to have a usable lens
    • Still works great with PDAF 79 AF points, so I don’t really miss H-AF much at all on this lens.
