Lost all my important data

It has ~29GB of usable storage, & I purchased it to backup my important lab data

It overheated and i lost all my data (close to 10GB) after two days

When I put it in my computer the computer sees that something is in the USB but doesn't recognize it as a drive and now some personal data is lost for good

My instinct is that this is indicative of a reliability problem, and I can't afford to lose the data

A warranty return is out of the question, since it now has sensitive data on it, which I can't erase

Others that I have had have died for no reason, stopped working, or had corrupted data

Don't chance it with your precious data and family photos.

Looks great, works as you'd expect and the design is durable and minimal.

It is smaller than I expected, which was a nice surprise, works as it is supposed to, so no complaints
