What I really like about it are the blue lights which tell you when the phone, tablet etc. is charging or when it is fully charged (light goes out)

Convenient lighting tells you when charging is complete - i.e. the lights turn off.

My biggest complaint is I have to keep my phone in reach and this device lights up to show that its plugged in and also each device that is attached has a slot that also lights up.

Note the "off" switch only controls the light and not the unit (not a problem).
