Wasn't sure it was metal at first because it looked like it might have been a plastic

The pieces on top that hold the files are supposed to be held in by tiny plastic pins which don't work

The plastic hardware contained in the box is cheap plastic and does not securely hold the folder/letter trays with any degree of security.

even then I’m not entirely sure it will hold since the pins are these flimsy little plastic plugs

The file holders are held to the drawer assembly with cheap plastic fasteners

It came with these very small god awful plastic pieces that are supposed to hold up the upright filing compartments
