I previously had the card holder without the flap, that was nice, too, but I do feel that the cards (four, usually) are more secure with the flap.

Love the card holder, but would recommend against the champagne color as it looked dingy/dirty almost immediately...the materials seem to pick up dirt/color you don't even know is there!
