The one I use in my truck tends to pick up dust/dirt more frequently than the one sitting on my desk, but rinsing it off is easy enough and the stickiness hasn't appeared to degrade yet (after several weeks of use).

Worth it as others have lost their stickiness although they were washed.

When it starts to loose the stickiness, I simply wash it with soap and water, let it air dry, and put it back into service.

And yes, you can wash them and refresh the stickiness, but having to peel, wash, and restick weekly was getting old.
