Many of us out there have noted, with some sadness, at what passes muster for good sounding speakers these days
-
So now I have to buy better speakers to let this little beast reach it's potential
-
For anyone out there like me, with a pair of really great sounding passive bookshelf speakers which they would love to use again, or use as computer speakers, then this is the amp for you
-
The manufacturer recommends a 120 Watt RMS amp to power these speakers and they sounded great with the SMSL AD18 HiFi Audio Stereo Amplifier
-
You don't need some expensive sound card, just plug and play and it will power any set of passive high quality bookshelf speakers as well as allow easy connection to a subwoofer
-
Or if you have a set of good analog speakers laying around, you can get alot out of them by spending a few bucks on this
-
Decent power, but make sure you have relatively efficient speakers.
-
I just needed to power some old cheap speakers that I've had in storage for a long time, the amp works great, the speakers..... NOT

The sound quality of the SMSL amp is many times better with these speakers--amazingly crisp and clear music!

: Video was updated to prove to the doubters that 'Yes indeed, it can - power those in-efficient speakers!
-
Drives my ceiling mounted speakers well and fills a 20 by 20 room.
-
I'd buy one again if I had more efficient speakers to drive.

I suspect it would work a lot better with Klipsch or other more modern efficient speakers.
-
Basically, they suck for the most part, unless you are willing to spend way too much $$ for overpriced powered speakers that have (IMO) just average sound quality
-
I'm conflicted, I love this little unit a lot as it brings a lot of nice good power to my (admittedly not per hungry) speakers
