This wrecked the lens.

My favorite lens, the one that's usually on the camera, is the Sony SELP18105G E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS

However, I need a better lens than the kit lens.

I picked up the 55-210mm(great lens), and the Sigma 30mm art lens

When I switched the camera on, the lens made a strange noise and then a message came on the screen saying that the lens was not connected properly

Is refurbished and has some small issues "unrecognized lens"; takes great pictures though

The detail captured with a good lens and normal care in how you shoot is pretty amazing

Two minor quibbles - the lens release button is hard to access because it is positioned between the lens and the camera's handgrip.

Also the Sigma 30mm 1.4 is a great prime lens for it

Specifically I wish Sony would design one really good small, light weight, mid-range zoom lens for the A6000 camera

I ended up leaving the 30mm on for most of the time(great lens for $200)

Again, for the money you can't beat it, but I'm wanting to move on for better lens choices, not a better camera.

I recommend the SEL55210 lens with it for added reach.

While a decent starter lens, I think many of the features would be better utilized with a prime lens

I cannot emphasize enough how great the SEL35F18 lens is

Though I plan to upgrade to a strong fixed lens soon

The smaller lens that comes with it is very problematic

But Sony gets 3 stars for VERY limited lens selection

so images that are pretty clean through ISO 1600, this is a way better system than a point and shoot, but I think at 500 to 700 and close to 1000 with a decent prime lens, this camera gets very expensive for the mediocre images it produces.

I decided to get the sony 20mm 2.8 pancake lens for a compact walk-around lens, and a sigma 60mm 2.8 for portraits (my favorite lens with AF on this camera).

As a side light, the 70-200mm f/4 lens is really a super lens, tack sharp and very fast to focus.

** about build quality, its all about performance, as a camera #3 it does everything, if you get the right lens pics look stunning, the difference 25fps & 60fps is that its not jittery when panning with 60fps, i do recommend you register faces, if this is your first camera with HDR you will forget when to use HDR, OSS based lens and this body goes hand in hand.i really dont like how i havet to take the sd card out, the buffer light is under the camrea, auto superior is pretty good, mode dial is not smooth enough.amazing manual control over the video.

Without a useable and sharp wide angle lens, most landscape photographers will not find the a6000 system to be workable

Before start looking for a much better quality lens, try the kit lens and see if it is worth spending more on a lens that would rarely use

Any other lens, however, eliminates this issue

Great beginner lens

I have my Nikkor 60mm Micro AF-D w/ a cheap adaptor and the lens dwarfs it weight and size wise

Especially when paired with a good prime lens.

On powering on the camera the lens made repeated clicking noises and the display showed the message "Cannot recognize lens

Also, SEL1650 is not super sharp lens (which is normal, because it is small zoom lens and you can't beat the laws of physic), if you are pixel peeper you will see it right away, but this is not the point here

Add the Sony 50mm f1.8 OSS for an incredible portrait lens, and the Sony 10-18mm f4 OSS for a great wide-angle lens, and you have a really great kit

So the A6000 makes the lens a 300/f4--not as functional as my 540mm equivalent Canon, but good enough when keeping things light, especially with 24mp for cropping

THe lens makes an awful grinding noise which is rocorded on the movies.

With both the 18-55mm lens which I prefer (the earlier 18-55mm lens has the superior manual zoom, and much less distortion than the newer 16-50mm), and the excellent 55-210mm telephoto, the camera now focusses quickly and accurately..

That's an amazing lens for the price, but it is not stabilized.

The fastest e mount or fe mount constant aperture zoom available from any manufacturer is currently f4.0.

For now I rely on the fast and clear E-mount Sigma 30mm prime that works perfectly w/ the camera.
