However, between the sad battery life and the equally sad screen/EVF resolution, I think I'm not quite ready to devote myself to this camera for the next 5 years

Excellent battery life

To name those that bothered me most - short battery life (typical to all mirrorless), long startup time (when used with aftermarket batteries, I have missed a lot of shots because of it, -1 star for this), and of course the short buffer

I have a few non-serious nitpicks:-Some have criticized the battery life of the camera

The low life of the battery is bothering me and the kit lens did not do any favor

Even allowing for its "advanced age,/old batteries" (It was never abused and looks new) it still has a better battery life than this one for 150.00 more (this Sony was open box during Black Friday, 2017)I wish Sony would LISTEN to people giving them $$$, already

As for what could be improved, I’d like to see a bigger grip to accommodate larger lenses and a bigger battery to build upon the mediocre battery life

But with the poor battery life, poor grip, average image quality, it's hard to shell out that kind of money for a camera

To make matters worse, I purchased an Arca-Swiss-compatible L bracket.

, L lenses even more so, so as much as I love to use it when I go out with sole intention of taking pictures, those are not really handy to carry around for anything else

you can get extremely high quality photos for the cost of the cheapest L pro zoom lens (70-200 f4)

I own only L lenses as well as the well renowned Sigma 35 f1.4

I am bummed out because now I have no camera for my upcoming trip and there is nothing else out there that I like as much as I liked this Sony a6000

There are a lot of naysayers on the web who say that Sony doesn't have a good lens selection, but the E mount lenses available for this meet my needs.

This is one of my two favorite E-mount lenses.

The fastest e mount or fe mount constant aperture zoom available from any manufacturer is currently f4.0.

For now I rely on the fast and clear E-mount Sigma 30mm prime that works perfectly w/ the camera.
