It did not help that the seller shipped the unit in the original Sony box without any protective outer packaging, which likely contributed to the inoperability of the delicate CD reader.

Within the first 2 hours of receiving this unit, the CD reader component skipped 3 times on 3 different CD discs that work fine on another CD player.
