Other brands that are cheaper tend to have very poor CD players that don't last.

This player worked great till today 9/07/18 the radio still works the tape player still works but the CD player stopped and that is what we bought it for.

I wanted a radio that still had a tape deck as well as a CD player.

Previously I had bought a couple of the cheaper tape players currently on the market; they variously played back too slowly, "ate" and destroyed the tapes, or just stopped working after playing back only a handful of tapes.

I understand this is not a very expensive player, and it’s pretty darn portable, but if you want decent sound, look elsewhere
