Sony Dream Machine ICF-CD843V CD Clock Radio with Digital Tuner (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

    • Good Display, 4.
    • Pros - lots of settings & capabilities, sound is good, price is good, Cons - couldn't see display unless you are level with and directly in front of the unit
    • The display is too bright even at it's lowest setting - it's almost enough to serve as a night light
    • Pros: plenty of presets, weatherband, nice display with 3 backlight levels
    • Its nice bright display was great for those middle-of-the night feedings when I was trying to keep track of time
    • The Good-Clear sound, well lit display with dimmer & nap feature
    • The blue-green display (contrary to many reports) is quite readable (the amber displays in other Sony's are not as readable) - the dimmer will get the light level down to about as low as you could go and still have the display visible at night - and the daytime level is plenty bright.
    • Display is slightly difficult to read on lowest backlight setting but angle of
    • If you take the radio and plug it in, then hold it at eye level or lower, the display is fine
    • Secondly, the display is difficult for me to see at night
    • But if you raise it above eye level, the entire display is one solid green picture, totally unreadable!
    • Maybe it'll be in the next itineration of this product (hint...hint)Although this unit is inexpensive, has GREAT sound, is somewhat easy to use, There are certain things you come to expect in a product like this as well as from this company, They've been in the game too long to make the mis-steps like they did with this one
